2010 {a look back}

It's been a busy start to the 2011 year but it wouldn't be right to move on from 2010 just yet. A year that brought so much happiness and opportunities my way. I am lucky enough to make my living with a camera and none of this happens if I didn't have such great people around me. I have to first off thank my AMAZING wife and mother to my little boy. I'm not where I am today without your support and patience. I love you. The next thanks is to my heart and soul - Anthony. 2010 let me watch as my best buddy grew into the cutest 1 year old I know. Words can't possibly describe what Anthony means to Deana and I. And he's got my sense of humor, so that's a bonus. I also have to thank my entire family for being the best support group imaginable. You can't underestimate family. Special thanks to my parents!! Now I see what it means to be on the other end and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for raising me the way you did. Wow this is turning into a Oscar speech! Cue the music. A final thanks to my brides, grooms, friends, clients and everyone else that has made 2010 1 of the best years of my life so far. I'm ready to see what 2011 has to offer.Enjoy a look back at some of the moments that tell my story of 2010.

Showtime

My first ever bridal show turned out to be a successful experience. I didn't know what to expect going in but everything worked out great. Once I knew I was going to do the show I wanted to do something a little different than just the standard table and photos so I got to thinking. I jotted down a few ideas I had and kept an eye for things around me that inspired me. I pulled the wood backdrop you'll see below from a Crate & Barrel in-store showcase that I saw and tried to carry the theme throughout the entire booth.  I also wanted a way to run a slideshow throughout the day but didn't just want a computer screen sitting on a table. So we build a custom frame-box for the computer to sit in. Worked out perfectly. I ran these ideas by my crafty father and BOOM...a couple days later he built our set. I think he can make anything! Thanks Dad for all your help!

The space we had was a little tight for our booth but we made it work.

Below are the pricing guides I designed for the show. It was just 3 5x7 postcards hole punched and tied together. They were a big hit!

3 cheap painters lights were a fun touch to the booth and really made my prints stand out.

albums Albums ALBUMS!

This post is long overdue. Mid way through 2010 I made an album company switch. I needed something new, something that was a better fit for my studio.With my first bridal show coming up I had to scramble and design a few sample albums to display. Well, they arrived at house the other day (that's about 6 straight days the UPS man has been here). I did a quick photo shoot today and below are examples of my samples.

Check out the stamp of my logo they put on the boxes! I love it! To the right is the brown top grain leather on a 9x12 album.

The albums are really well made and the pages lay flat with the split page option.Below is a sample of a 9x12 album with the black leather cover. The couple's name is also branded into the cover which is a great touch. Below is an example of an 11x11 album also with the black leather cover.

Bridal Show

Well I'll be doing my 1st ever bridal show this coming weekend. I really haven't felt the need or was too crazy about doing bridal shows until the great people at the Connecticut Wedding Group asked me if I was interested. There show is unique from most other shows. They will be hosting couples who have already booked with 1 of their venues or is interested in booking with them. You can find out more info here: ::BRIDAL SHOW:: My Pops has been hard at work putting some of my ideas together for my booth design. He's more of the handy man than I am. I'll have some pictures to show after the weekend. Should be fun.
