Web Shoot

Last week I did a photo shoot for Fathom, an awesome design company out of Hartford. The shoot was for the ALA Nutmeg Chapters new website that Fathom is designing. The graphic designer who designed the website was 1 of my 2007 wedding clients Michelle.
The attorneys were so easy to work with and it was great to work with Michelle too. We did a bunch of head shots and some "natural" setting shots. It's a challenge to get different good photos of a meeting where everyone sits around a table engaging in discussion, but I think we pulled it off. Here are a few shots from the day.
Also check out the "who we are" page on the Fathom website too. It's pretty cool.
Oh yeah and this was shot with a rented D300 (I'll be buying 1 soon) and a the head shots were done with the 85 f/1.4 nikon lens. What an amazing piece of glass!

Miss Ferraro's Class Goes Green

I got a chance to visit Deana's 4th graders the other day at Davis Street School in New Haven, and take a few pics. They started a "go green" initiative and put together a pretty cool bulletin board. They entered into a contest that helps save the rain forest. The goal is to read 100 book by Earth Day and Scholastic donates money for the class. Here is a pic of some students in front of the go green board. And then a pic of the kids getting a little silly.
Don't forget to check out my brothers site - Live the Green Life

The unstoppable Patriots met their match tonight. Wow what a game. Eli made some crazy plays tonight and the D was too tough for Brady. Here's a shot of Deana and her brother Chris in front of the inflatable Giants man. SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!!!!!!

Order Now

Here is a sneak peak at my new ordering site for 2008. You will be able to see larger previews and it is very user friendly. I haven't uploaded and galleries yet but will be soon. If it's been more than 6 months from your event, your photos will most likely expire and won't be transferred to the new ordering system. So if you want to order through me and haven't yet, please do so very soon. Events within the past 6 months will most likely be transferred. I'm looking forward to the switch and hopefully it makes things easier on my clients. You'll also notice that I added a "Gallery Print" section. I am going to try and offer my personal, scenic/creative images for sale to the public. There will most likely be a slight increase in print prices too so order now to save some cash.

Playing with light

Strobist is an amazing website that has taught me so many little tricks using my flash off camera. These images were taken using my home-made grid spot on my flash. It pretty much narrows down the spill of light from your flash. You can read all about it here

You can really see how tight the beam of light is here

I noticed that the light was missing the flower and creating a little spot on the floor so I placed a few petals in that spot and got this
