ireland | jim & kerry | part 2

the wedding day! wow what a day. i think this might be my largest blog post to date. it really meant a lot to me to be able to capture this day. being able to deliver photos like this to great people is so satisfying. when i tell people i'm a wedding photographer they often ask "how do you like shooting weddings" and they usually seem to be waiting for a complaint or negative answer, but I always reply "I love it". Sure it's hard, stressful work and can be a very time consuming job. there is SO much that goes into shooting a wedding and the preparation and knowledge you need never ends. basically what i'm saying is its HARD HARD work. But the reward you get when you deliver the images outweighs all the hard work.

ireland 2011 | jim & kerry | part 1

i had the amazing opportunity to shoot a best friend's wedding in IRELAND a few weeks back! the scenery was breathtaking. a photographer's dream. i couldn't have asked for a better trip (only way it would have been better was if my wife and little buddy could have made the trip). As i said the scenery was amazing but the people were even more amazing. 1st off jim and kerry couldn't have been better hosts to me and all of their guests. planning an ireland wedding from the usa can't be the easiest thing in the world but the week couldn't have went any smoother. our plane arrived around 5am and jim and kerry were both there to greet us! 2nd jim and kerry come from awesome families and they couldn't have been nicer. kerry's family in ireland was the friendliest most welcoming group of people i've ever met. they made me feel like part of the family. these people are the definition of family.

jim and and kerry it was an honor to shoot your wedding! thanks so much for being great friends! congratulations once again and i hope im able to remind you of what a perfect wedding week it was with my images. enjoy part 1 of my ireland post.

we spent a couple of days in Dublin

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedthen went up to Howth Head in the town of Howth for an impromptu shoot. we dodged the rain all week.  The view from the cliffs were surreal.undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedthen it was back to the streets of Dublinundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedand we had a great "welcome reception" at the Guinness Factory. The top floor has a bar with 360 degree views of the city.undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedthese are a couple images from the Portmarnock Hotel where the wedding reception was heldundefinedundefinedundefined Part II is coming up very soon...wedding day photos.

lightning storm

i made a mad dash to grab the camera during tonight's lighting storm. I miss a few good streaks but was able to grab these shots. I took about 350 photos and came out with 5 frames that were pretty good. Any storm chasers hiring?undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined
